Finding Talent.

There are a few different ways to source talent for your videos. You may choose to use talent in your videos for lifestyle content or for more informative type videos ie getting a professional presenter. See a list below of different ways you can source talent for your videos and a few things to keep in mind.

Talent agency

This is the most expensive option however you will be guaranteed an experienced model. Please keep in mind some agencies limit the amount of time you can use the content in your socials and website. This can be anywhere from 1-2 years. After this the content would be redundant.

Model callout

It is not odd these days for brands to do model call outs on their social media pages. Brands typically do this when they want to feature real customers in their social media content. These people may not be professional models however our team will guide them as much as possible.

Freelance facebook groups

There are lots of facebook groups where you can do model callouts. This generally means bypassing agency fees. Please keep in mind if something goes wrong there is not really any systems in place to hold people accountable. You will also need to have your own model release forms. A facebook group we recommend is “Melbourne Creative Network”

Influencers

Another option is using influencers as the talent/model in your videos. The benefit of this is that although the influencer is not a professional model they are probably used to being in front of a camera. There is also the option to get the influencer to promote the content you create, therefore improving your potential reach.

Things to note:

  • When it comes to video, you can immediately tell when someone is inexperienced as their lack of confidence on camera really shines through. We recommend using talent who are experienced so that you product/service is showcased in the best way possible.

  • Let your talent know if they will be required to do their own makeup or if you have organised hair and makeup to take place before the shoot.

  • Let your talent know what props/clothing they need to bring along for the shoot, singlets, plain t shirts, black/white shoes etc.
